You know you want to work online… but you’re stuck on knowing what exactly is out there. Amiright?

We’ve done the work for you. Below is a compiled list of all the different ways to get started working online!

———————————————————————————————

Hold up! Before you start…

You need to get a VPN. Trust me.
If you’re gonna start working online, making money online, growing a business online, investing online… you need to protect yourself online!
VPNs hide your real IP address, which makes it extremely difficult for hackers to get a hold of your computer.
Especially if you plan to start traveling while working online (cus I mean, you’re not longer obligated to go to “work” anymore) because you will likely be using public wifi- like hotels, cafes, restaurants, etc. These wifi networks make your computer the most vulnerable.
In addition, while traveling internationally, some websites are restricted depending on the country (vimeo for example isn’t allowed in some foreign countries) and therefore using a VPN is the only way around it.

Now that you have a VPN, let’s get started!

Freelancing

This is perhaps one of the most popular ways people are working online. The reason? You can provide ANY skill. Freelancing varies from photography, to writing, to graphic designing, to website building, and more.
If you’re unsure what skill you have for freelancing, I suggest looking into resources provided by a freelancing expert here.
And when you’re ready to give it a go, you can check out Fiverr since it’s a very beginner-friendly platform.

Write an e-book

Writing a book, especially an e-book, is actually a fantastic way to build online passive income! You only need to write a book once, and you can sell it to hundreds, thousands, and maybe even millions of people.
But if you’re unsure on how to make that dream a reality, here is course on how to create an e-book that you can sell on sites like Amazon.
My own e-book is also available to see the pros AND cons of working online!

Sell your crap (:

The average home has over 300,000 items and estimated that in your home is over $1,000 worth of stuff that you no longer use or need!
There are various platforms to sell your old Christmas gifts from your aunts that you’ve never opened, or purses that sit in your closet.
However one of my favorite platforms is Poshmark because there’s no listing fee.
Note: Poshmark is only available in USA, Canada, and Australia. Use my code kat_btq to get $10!

Publish a book

If you want to write and publish an actual book, you can also do that too! It can be just as passive in income as an e-book, and you appeal to those who prefer reading paper books, like me. The tricky part is knowing how to transform your laptop notes to a published book.
You can learn how to do so here, and it takes you through learning how to write a book for both paperback and for kindle readers.

Affiliate Marketing

Many companies, including Amazon, have an affiliate program. If you register as an affiliate, you get paid by referring/promoting that company.
Ever seen those TikToks where people review an Amazon product and it makes you impulse buy?
Yep. Affiliate.
It’s brilliant, no inventory is required, no fees are charged to you, and it doesn’t increase the cost for the buyer. It’s all budgeted by the company.

Review Mobile Apps

You can test and review mobile apps for money. This is helpful for new companies or businesses that launch their apps and need feedback before they start having all their customers download it and complaining about problems.
Although this is definitely more of a side-gig type of work, it’s a great way to fill your down time!

E-commerce

This type of online business has been booming lately! The reason is because you can have a brand and shop that takes place 100% online and therefore spares you the need to pay rent for a brick & mortar store.
If you have highly considered doing this, I encourage you to learn from experts first and see if it’s the right fit for you.
In addition, you can also sign up for a program that automates your e-commerce business for you (like customer service, email list, content management, etc).

Twitter

Yup. You can monetize your Twitter account!
It’s also okay if you don’t have millions of followers. Twitter is just one of the many social media accounts that one can monetize.
If you have a growing Twitter and want to learn how to possibly make some money off of it, here is a course that shares about earning passive income off of your account!

YouTube

Monetizing videos on YouTube is actually really amazing, and can definitely replace your current salary. If making video content seems like something you want to get into, I recommend learning tips from YouTube creators who rake in over $10,000/month. YouTube is such a large platform, that it can be tedious and long to get the qualifications needed for monetization.
If you don’t see yourself wanting to necessarily create the content, but wish to still monetize YouTube, you can also learn how to do that too!

Blogging

Just imagine that instead of writing posts on tumblr, you write them on your own website!
Blogging has always been a very popular way for people to make an online income.
But if you don’t know how to create the right blog, how to write the juicy content, and more importantly how to attract readers… then your blog might flop.
Here is a guide full of pointers on how to start a successful blog that you can fully monetize!

House/Pet Sitting

Yup, exactly what it sounds like. Sitting inside a house or watching someone’s pet… and getting paid! Say whaaat.
Sometimes when people are out of town, they want to ensure their home and pets are cared for, as this minimizes risk or potential of robbery.
In addition, if you travel, you can also house sit for a home instead of staying in a hotel. Win-win!
A popular platform is House Carers.
Check it out if you think this is a fit for you!

Social Media Influencer

No, you don’t have to be a pretty girl in a bikini to be a social media influencer.
But you do need to provide value to your followers/subscribers. Whether it be information, inspiration, motivation, education, or adorable cat & dog videos.
However if you want to accelerate your social media accounts, and start learning how to monetize it right away, I recommend snagging this e-book filled with tips and tricks.
